FAQ

  • Do you accept insurance or self-pay?

A: Yes, we accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Aetna insurance for individual therapy sessions. If you don’t have insurance or prefer not to use it, we also welcome self-pay clients. The self-pay rates are $125-150 per session. We can also provide superbills for potential reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Please note that we do not accept insurance for couples therapy at this time.

  • Should I choose self-pay or use my insurance?

It depends on your needs and preferences. Insurance can make therapy more affordable, but it may require a diagnosis or limit the number of sessions covered. Self-pay provides greater privacy and flexibility, allowing you to focus on your goals without restrictions from your insurance provider.

  • Do you offer in-person therapy?

Currently, all sessions are conducted virtually for clients located in the state of Maryland, during the time of the scheduled session.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Determining if therapy is a good fit depends on your needs and desired outcomes. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, concerns, and what you hope to achieve. The consultation is also an opportunity for you to determine if therapy is right for you at this time.

  • What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a specialized therapy designed to help people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It uses guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help the brain process and reframe painful memories. EMDR doesn’t erase the memory but helps reduce its emotional intensity, so you can move forward without being overwhelmed by past events.

  • What should I do if I have a mental health emergency?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. You can also contact a crisis hotline for immediate support, such as the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.
